个人简介:

1999年初以访问学者身份赴丹麦奥胡斯大学,从事肾脏病理生理学研究,2001年至2004年在奥胡斯大学水盐研究中心攻读医学博士学位,并于2004年获得肾脏病理生理学博士学位并晋升为助理教授。2004年9月以博士后身份赴美国科罗拉多州大学医学院高血压与肾脏疾病科继续从事肾脏的生理和病理生理学研究,先后晋职为研究型讲师和助理教授。2012年2月被中山大学中山医学院高血压研究所聘为教授,博士生导师,全职回国工作。

重要学术研究成果与贡献:

王蔚东博士多年从事多种病理生理条件下肾脏水盐代谢调节与水通道钠转运蛋白的关系的研究。通过一系列的研究,在世界上首次提出了肾单位髓袢升枝粗段钠钾氯共同转运蛋白与集合管水通道共同表达下降是高钙血症大鼠尿浓缩功能障碍的分子基础,磷酸二酯酶抑制剂通过升高水通道II(aquaporin2, AQP2)在一定程度上改善这种浓缩障碍。在动物模型的基础上,第一次提出肾集合管主细胞AQP2由胞浆向胞膜顶端输送也可以由心房利钠多肽通过升高细胞内环磷酸鸟苷来介导,进而促进水的重吸收。在此期间,还完成和参与完成了多种病理生理条件下,肾脏水通道蛋白和钠转运蛋白的调节以及相关的分子病理生理学机制的研究,如急慢性肾衰,尿路梗阻,电解质紊乱相关的尿崩症,肾病综合征,多种激素紊乱相关的水盐代谢障碍(如肾上腺皮质激素,甲状腺素,催产素)等,近期进一步扩展了肾素-血管紧张素-醛固酮系统对肾水通道蛋白调节的细胞信号途径的研究。王蔚东博士另一个研究方向是代谢疾病如肥胖,糖尿病等相关肾病的发病机制和保护作用的研究,主要集中于局部肾素-血管紧张素(RAS)系统激活和拮抗在代谢性肾病发生和发展中的作用,特别是探讨脂肪酸,胆固醇,葡萄糖等物质可能通过局部RAS系统激活对肾脏上皮细胞亚细胞器损害的分子机制,已获得国家自然科学基金和广东省自然科学基金的资助,初步取得了一定的成果,相关文章已经被专业杂志接受。目前,已在肾脏生理学和肾脏病学领域杂志发表或参与发表五十余篇SCI文章,这些文章在一定程度上促进了人们对肾脏生理,病理生理过程的了解和细胞分子基础的认识,也为可能的相关疾病的治疗提供了参考和实验依据。
