University of Missouri Postdoctoral Positions in Virology and Innate Immunity to Viral Infections
Applications are invited to apply for NIH-funded postdoctoral positions at the University of Missouri at Columbia. The major focus of our research is membrane fusion and cellular entry of enveloped RNA viruses, as well as innate immunity to viral infections, including innate sensing. We are using several model viruses, such as HIV-1, influenza A virus (IAV), HCV and Ebolavirus, to understand virus-host interactions. Highly motivated individuals with a strong background in virology and cell biology are encouraged to apply. We are in particular looking for candidates who have some background and experience in lipid biophysics, live cell imaging, and innate immunity. These candidates will be working on the mechanisms of some newly identified cellular restriction factors, such as IFITMs, which inhibit infections by Ebolavirus, IAV and HIV-1.
If interested, please send a cover letter, a full CV, and the detailed contact information of three references to Dr. Shan-Lu Liu at liushan@missouri.edu.
