Dr. Yue Ge简介:

Yue received his Ph.D. (Proteomics) at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA, under the supervision of Drs. Andrew Philip and Jeffrey Chamberlain, where he investigated biological mechanisms of Duchenn Muscular Dystrophy by identifying and characterizing disease targets, biomarkers and signaling pathways associated with disease progression using functional proteomic approaches.  Prior to his Ph.D. studies, he had worked in Walther Oncology Center, Indiana University for four years. His research focused on identification of gene mutations and genetic polymorphisms associated with hypertension, and characterization of cytokine gene expression in human stem and progenitor cells. Following completion of his Ph.D. studies, Yue moved to Department of Proteomics at Invitrogen, where he worked as a lead scientist for a breast cancer proteomic project.  The goal of the project was to identify breast cancer biomarkers using Multiplexed Proteomics Technology Platform built within his research team. As a project leader, Yue was also actively involved in development of quantitative proteomic techniques and assays for detection and quantification of disease biomarkers.  His work resulted in two US patents 4 new technologies and assays that are being wildly used in proteomics and biomarker research. In 2006, Yue took the position of Principal Investigator at US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to lead toxicoproteomic research in EPA. His laboratory is working in the emerging field of toxicoproteomics. Utilizing improved toxicoproteomic technologies developed by his research team and others to decipher mechanisms and modes of action of chemical-induced carcinogenesis and identify protein biomarkers of exposure, toxicity and effect have been his major research interests. With regard to service to the broader scientific community, Yue has peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts for several journals such as “electrophoresis”, “Proteomics”, “Journal of Proteome Research”, “Oxford Genomics and Proteomics”, “Journal of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry”, and “Toxicology Letters.”  He has served as the chair for several international conferences such as 2007 American Electrophoresis Society Annual Meeting, 2008 SETAC European Meeting, and Australia World Congress.  He has also been an invited speaker for many national and international scientific conferences. To date, he has published about 30 scientific papers and 40 abstracts which have been presented in national and international conferences.
