Dr. Marilyn Parsons is currently a Full Professor, Director of Professional Development, at Seattle Biomedical Research Institute (Seattle BioMed), USA. She is also an Affiliate Professor in the Department of Global Health, University of Washington. Dr. Parsons had been on the Editorial Board of a couple of journals, including PLoS Pathogens, and presently is Joint Chief Editor of Molecular and Biochemical Parasitology and editor of Eukaryotic Cell. She has been serving as reviewers for many NIH grants and for multiple journals, and peer-reviewed for Faculty of 1000 from 2001 to present. Her research interests focus on identifying differences in cell structure and function between parasites (Trypanosoma brucei, Leishmania, and Toxoplasma gondii) and humans. Dr. Parsons has published over 100 research papers in peer-reviewed journals, including Nature, Science, Cell, PNAS, JBC, etc.
