主讲人简介:
Dr. Long-Jun Wu received his PhD degree from University of Science and Technology of China in 2004. He was a visiting PhD student at University of Toronto (2003-2004). Dr. Wu’s PhD study mainly work on acid-sensing ion channels in pain, which was supervised by Prof. Tian-Le Xu. After his PhD study, Dr. Wu was trained as a postdoctoral fellow at University of Toronto (2004-2008, supervised by Prof. Min Zhuo) and Harvard Medical School (2008-2010, supervised by Prof. David Clapham), and promoted to Instructor at Harvard Medical School (2011-2012). Since September 2012, Dr. Long-Jun Wu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Cell Biology and Neuroscience at Rutgers University.
While Dr. Long-Jun Wu’s early work studied neuronal mechanisms of pain and memory, his recent research is primarily focused on understanding microglia-neuron communication in normal and diseased brain. By using a combination of two-photon imaging technique and electrophysiology, Dr. Long-Jun Wu studies molecular mechanisms of microglia-neuron interaction under physiological conditions and in brain diseases, including epilepsy, ischemic stroke, and neuropathic pain. Particularly, Dr. Long-Jun Wu is interested in the function of microglial ion channels/receptors, such as voltage-gated proton channel Hv1, ATP receptors, and TRP channels, in microglia-neuron communication. Dr. Long-Jun Wu has published 72 peer-reviewed articles, including those in Nature Neuroscience, Neuron, PNAS, Science Translational Medicine, Journal of Neuroscience, Glia, etc. His publications has total impact factor of 384 with more than 3500 citations. The research in Long-Jun Wu’s laboratory is currently supported by Rutgers start-up funds, NIH NINDS (R01NS088627), American Heart Association (11SDG7340011), Michael J. Fox Foundation, and Lundbeck USA.
