Dr. Jake Chen简介:
Dr. Jake Chen is on the faculty of Purdue University Department of Computer and Information Science and Indiana University School of Informatics, located at the Indianapolis campus. He is the founding director of the Indiana Center for Systems Biology and Personalized Medicine since 2008 and the local chair of IEEE Society of Engineering in Biology and Medicine in the Central Indiana Chapter since 2004. He is a senior member of both the IEEE and ACM. He is also full members of several Indiana University biomedical research centers covering bioinformatics, bio-computing, cancer, and environmental health.
In Indiana, he leads several interdisciplinary informatics research projects with the theme “translational bioinformatics” and the ultimate goal of enabling future genome medicine. He is well published in the areas of biological data management, biological data mining, network biology, and computational systems biology. He has edited two books, “Biological Database Modeling” and “Biological Data Mining”, gave more than 100 invited presentations worldwide, and published approximately 70 research articles at top journals, conference proceedings, and book chapters.
He received both MS and PhD degrees in computer science & engineering from the University of Minnesota at Twin Cities.
